While disinformation harms everyone, the costs are not borne equally. Health-related misinformation exasperates the health disparities that communities of color already experience, including Latinx communities.

There has never been a more critical time to support community resiliency against disinformation. Increasingly, Latinx communities are being flooded with disinformation campaigns on topics ranging from elections to vaccination. A recent poll found that 78% of Latinx respondents said that they believe COVID-19 misinformation is a serious problem for their communities. The COVID-19 pandemic has acutely demonstrated how the rapid proliferation of disinformation, rumors, and conspiracy theories on social media can threaten the safety and health of communities.

This free, on-demand, bilingual training (available in English and Spanish) was designed in collaboration with Latino community members to help provide anyone with the skills to effectively identify and respond to online vaccine misinformation.

This brief training is designed to equip Latino social media influencers with the tools and strategies needed to recognize and combat disinformation.
